Continuing Education Credits

Earn 100 American Institute of Architecture (AIA) Learning Units and Built It Green continuing education credits by participating in the SBA Program. LEED APs & LEED GAs may also earn up to 100 continuing education units through this USGBC approved Mastery Level Education Provider Program.

Work-Trade Opportunity

Description

The Bay Area has a very active and highly skilled community of professionals working to develop high performance buildings and sustainable communities. Engaged with this effort are instructors and graduates of the Sustainable Building Advisor (SBA) Program in San Francisco. As a part of the effort to strengthen the green building community, the SBA Program in SF has developed a blog that highlights course activities, projects throughout the Bay Area, interviews with graduates and course instructors, innovative ideas and upcoming events. Working on the blog allows authors the opportunity to be personally involved with this in-depth international training program, meet professionals active in sustainable development and gain exposure to green building projects and events, both locally and around the world.

Work-trade Details

There are two work-trade opportunities available for each cohort of the Sustainable Building Advisor Program in San Francisco. Each position provides a $1000 discount on the regular tuition rate. Each work trade position will be responsible for authoring 18, 200-500 word blog entries for the duration of the program.

Application Submission

The submission deadline for the 2012, 4-month cohort is midnight on April 20, 2012. The application deadline for the  2012-2013, 9-month cohort is midnight on September 3, 2012. Late applications will not be considered. All submissions must include:

1. Resume or CV. Those with writing and green building experience are preferred.

2. Sample blog post. In 200 words or less write about a green building topic, exemplary project or notable professional. See the Blog page as a reference.

3. Statement of purpose. In 200 words or less tell us a little about yourself and why you are deserving of this work-trade opportunity.

4. Optional: Link to blogs or additional writing samples.
